Peterson, United States This is an American Gothic rambling house built in 1879. It is the oldest existing house in the little town of Peterson, Minnesota. It faces directly on the famous Root River Trail, which is considered one of the four best trails in the United States for biking, rollerblading, hiking, cross country skiing. The House of Seven Gables is also four blocks from the Root River with tubing, canoing, fishing, etc. The trail is 8 to 10 feet wide and black-top surfaced. Peterson is a quaint, quiet little town of 269 residents. The main street is about four blocks long and the House of 7 Gables is at the end of it. On the other end is the Root River, which has a canoe landing beside the bridge to Highway 16.
